Lexington Two Community Education Center recognized

WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- The Lexington Two Community Education Center was recognized this week for its service to the community.


The center received a resolution from the West Columbia City Council at its July 15 meeting. The center, which served hundreds of families in the 2018-19 school year, includes adult education, STAR Family Partnership, and early childhood programs.


Among those served in 2018-19, 110 were seeking to improve English skills; 470 were seeking a high school credential or working to improve their basic skills; 150 were seeking a GED; 12 were seeking high school diplomas; and 210 were seeking career readiness certificates.


The center also offers ESOL instruction, 4K screenings, parent engagement programs, Parent and Internationals Resource Center, clothes and food closets, and more to support the community.
