New Adult Education director announced

WEST COLUMBIA, SC – Alexis King has been selected as the new director of Lexington Two’s award-winning adult education program.

 

Ms. King comes to her new role after most recently serving as the district’s Coordinator of Early College and Dual Enrollment Programs, which saw a record number of student applicants for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year under her leadership. She has held that role since 2023.  

 

Ms. King began her career in education in 2004 at Richland 1’s Columbia High School, serving as a science teacher and as director of the Academy of Biomedical Sciences. She later was an Assistant Principal of Instruction (API) at Airport High School, an Assistant Principal at Wilson High School in Florence 1, and principal at Edisto High School in the Orangeburg County School District. 

 

She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of South Carolina.

 

She began her new role on July 1.
