WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- Registration will take place in the final week of August for Lexington Two adult education classes.
Day and evening registration options are available: 9 a.m.-noon Monday, August 27- Thursday, August 30; and 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, August 28 and Thursday, August 30. Registration is being held at the program’s new location, the Lexington Two Community Education Center, 114 Hook Ave., West Columbia.
The Lexington Two adult education program, which operates in conjunction with Lexington Four, includes a number of classes -- all free -- for students who left school without a diploma. In addition to GED preparation and high school diploma completion, the adult education program offers Career Readiness Certificate preparation, academic refresher and English for speakers of other languages. Services also are available to help with employment, training and college admission.
Counselors will be on hand during registration to work with students on offerings that will best suit their schedules and career goals.
“We are all excited about our new facility,” said director Christy Henderson. “The adult education teachers and staff have been working really hard to create a warm, nurturing learning environment for all our students. We are able to expand our program offerings to include not only GED and diploma classes but also English as a Second Language."
